Nick Sorenson is a professional hockey player who is still recovering, physically and mentally, from the plane crash that injured him and killed his five closest friends. He has moved to a new city and a new hockey team to start fresh, but he still isn't able to move on from the past. His new coach forces him to deal with his grief after learning that Nick's new apartment is completely bare and tells Nick that if his apartment doesn't quickly become more lived-in, he will need to see a therapist. Nick hires interior designer Alyssa Compton to fix up his place after meeting her through a teammate. Alyssa is determined to help Nick love his home, but he is not interested--at all. However, Nick slowly begins to open up to Alyssa, and they become more than friends. Just as their relationship starts to take off, however, a simple mistake threatens to ruin it all. Nick will have to deal with his demons in order forgive Alyssa and truly move forward with her.
