A Song of the Wind is story that spans from 1960s till 1990s, is the story of Singapore Malays in an impatient emerging independent nation, where they live in poverty and associated social ills, and are marginalised in a land they lived in for centuries. Then, the 1979 Islamic Revolution of Iran sends shockwaves through an already fragile community, caught between spreading Islamic fundamentalism and an intolerant paranoid state. (Translated from Malay.)
