This book really shines within the first 70 pages, where Tiu (founder of crochet site The Woobles) breaks down materials and techniques. Unlike other titles on this topic that mention only basic stitches with oversimplified photographs and specific jargon that isn't ideal for beginners, this presents every detail, from how to hold a crochet hook, what different yarn weights mean, and how each stitch is made with large, clear, close-up photographs. Links to online training videos are also provided, giving readers another resource. The book is a bit visually overwhelming at times, but it still features strong, singular, and simple patterns for beginners.
