A short story about a child travelling from a village in Europe to Canada. It highlights the differences experienced by a child leaving his home. Travelling away from the comforts of familiar people, sights, sounds and smells- to a one in a city, one that is busier, unfamiliar and initially more foreign. The story, is intended to show that goodness can be found, wherever you go, through empathy. It is represented as a common 'light', it is the familiar constant, the child can recognize.
Recalling the Golden Rule as he travels, he puts it into practice, for great outcomes.
It brings people together, regardless how different they may seem at the time. It was true in the village- and he found it to be true in the city.
