"In charismatic fashion, Kreinik brings alive the world of Talamh and Breen Siobhan Kelly's journey." - AudioFile Magazine
A new epic of love and war among gods and humans, from Nora Roberts—the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Awakening.

The world of magick and the world of man have long been estranged from one another. But some can walk between the two—including Breen Siobhan Kelly. She has just returned to Talamh, with her friend, Marco, who's dazzled and disoriented by this realm—a place filled with dragons and faeries and mermaids (but no WiFi, to his chagrin). In Talamh, Breen is not the ordinary young schoolteacher he knew her as. Here she is learning to embrace the powers of her true identity. Marco is welcomed kindly by her people—and by Keegan, leader of the Fey. Keegan has trained Breen as a warrior, and his yearning for her has grown along with his admiration of her strength and skills.
But one member of Breen's bloodline is not there to embrace her. Her grandfather, the outcast god Odran, plots to destroy Talamh—and now all must unite to defeat his dark forces. There will be losses and sorrows, betrayal and bloodshed. But through it, Breen Siobhan Kelly will take the next step on the journey to becoming all that she was born to be.

Barrie Kreinik continues her spectacular narration of Roberts's fantasy- romance series, The Dragon Heart Legacy. In charismatic fashion, Kreinik brings alive the world of Talamh and Breen Siobhan Kelly's journey of self-acceptance, romance, and strength. Breen, a teacher from Philadelphia, returns to the magical realm of Talamh with her unsuspecting friend, Marco. As Keegan, the leader of the Fey, develops feelings for Breen, she will have to help defeat the ancestral force that threatens her enchanted world. Kreinik delivers an authentic-sounding Irish accent that is lyrical and suggestive of a mythical land. She also offers a plethora of other vocalizations to depict the alluring and dynamic characters in this romantic tale. D.Z. © AudioFile 2021, Portland, Maine

Bestseller Roberts’s second Dragon Heart Legacy fantasy refines characters and beats left hazy in the series opener to create a satisfying mid-trilogy outing. The story picks up immediately where The Awakening left off, just as protagonist Breen is dragged through a portal from modern Philadelphia back into the magical world of Talamh with her best friend Marco inadvertently in tow. Marco—a gay, Black musician who periodically rises above the stereotypical—gets a crash course in Talamh’s history and the impending fight against an evil god seeking to subjugate Talamh, Earth, and the many other connected worlds. While watching Marco grasp much of what Breen learned in the last novel can grow tedious, it also adds depth to aspects that previously felt sketched out, most notably the stakes of the coming war. This outing has a sharp edge, including a violent sex scene, but as the conflict between good and evil escalates, Roberts’s skills with building suspense and crafting stirring relationships truly shine. Readers will eagerly await the final installment. Agent: Amy Berkower, Writers House.
